1. The Kill Order — August 14, 2012

  • Set 13 years before The Maze Runner book and prior to the events of The Fever Code. Sun flares hit the earth before WICKED was formed, before the Glade was built, and before Thomas entered the Maze, killing the majority of the population. Mark and Trina were present when it occurred. They made it. However, a virus is now spreading. A virus that instils murderous rage in humans. They are convinced that there is a way to save those who are still alive—if they can survive. Because every life has a cost in this new, devastated world. And you’re worth more dead than alive to some. The end is only the start.

2. The Fever Code — September 27, 2016

  • Set between the events of The Kill Order and the events of The Maze Runner. There was a time when the world came to an end. Forests burned, lakes and rivers dried up, and the oceans grew. Then came the plague, and fever spread all over the world. Families were destroyed, violence erupted, and man killed man. WICKED arrived next, looking for an answer. Then they met the perfect boy. The boy’s name was Thomas, and he created a maze. There are secrets now. There are deceptions. And there are allegiances that history could never have predicted. This is the story of Thomas, the boy who built a maze that only he could demolish. Everything will be revealed. The Fever Code concludes with the final moments before Thomas enters the Box in The Maze Runner, when he is betrayed and sent into the Maze.

3. The Maze Runner — October 6, 2009

  • At the start of The Maze Runner, Thomas was sent into the Maze as a result of the events of The Fever Code. Thomas awakens in the lift, his only memory being his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys who have also lost their memories. A limitless, ever-changing maze lies beyond the towering stone walls that surround them. It’s the only way out—and no one has ever survived. Then a girl appears. The first female ever. And her message is terrifying: Remember. Survive. Run.

4. The Scorch Trials — September 18, 2010

  • Thomas was certain that escaping the Maze would result in his and the Gladers’ freedom. But WICKED is far from finished. The second phase has just begun. The Scorching. The Gladers have two weeks to cross the Scorch, the world’s most burned-out region. And WICKED has made certain that the variables are adjusted and the odds are stacked against them. There are now others. Their survival is dependent on the Gladers’ destruction, and they are adamant about surviving. Friendships will be challenged. Loyalty will be tested. Everything is off the table.

5. The Death Cure — October 11, 2011

  • After spending four weeks in solitary confinement. When Thomas is released, Assistant Director Janson (Rat Man) informs him and the other subjects (including Group B) that there is no cure for the Flare, but that the majority of the Gladers and Group B are immune to it. He warns them that many people in the outside world despise them for their unnatural resistance to the Flare, and that if they flee, they will most likely be in even more danger. All Gladers and Group B members’ memories are later restored, and they flee. Thomas, Newt, and Minho refuse to be restored, and they flee with Jorge and Brenda. They then travel to a city where WICKED’s devices in their brains are disabled. They band together. They join forces with “Right Arm,” an anti-WICKED organisation. The moral may be that cooperation and teamwork are the most important factors.
