1. Descendants: School of Secrets (2015) [TV series]

It takes place after Ben has made his proclamation but before the Villain Kids arrive in Auradon. A prequel entitled Descendants: School of Secrets was released before the original film to pique fans’ interest and give them a glimpse of Auradon Prep.

An unidentified girl (Lonnie) sets up a hidden camera to capture Auradon Prep’s secrets. Her goal: to expose the “real” Auradon and release hidden camera footage to the public. But when Prince Ben announces that villain kids are on their way to Auradon, the hidden camera begins to reveal all sorts of attitudes, secrets and anxieties before the villain kids’ arrival.

 

2. Descendants (2015)

The worlds of villains and heroes collide when the prince of Auradon, Ben, son of Beast and Belle, offers a chance at redemption to Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay, the trouble-making kids of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil, and Jafar. The Villain Kids have been imprisoned on the forbidden Isle of the Lost since they were born. They are allowed into Auradon to attend school alongside the children of the Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, and more. Only time will tell if these teens will follow in the footsteps of their wicked parents! Descendants was spun off into a CGI animated short-form series titled Descendants: Wicked World and was followed by a sequel, Descendants 2.

 

3. Descendants: Wicked World (2015–2017) [TV series]

Descendants: Wicked World picks up after the first film and introduces new characters from the Isle of the Lost and Auradon. After Ben’s coronation in Descendants, the villain kids Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay settle in at being good while their villainous parents are still roaming the Isle of the Lost. The story goes deeper at the arrival of new villain kids, Freddie (Dr. Facilier’s daughter), CJ (Captain Hook’s daughter) and Zevon (Yzma’s son).

 

4. Descendants 2 (2017)

When the pressure to be royal becomes too much for Mal (Dove Cameron), she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where her archenemy Uma (China Anne McClain), the daughter of Ursula, has taken her spot as self-proclaimed queen of the run-down town. Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all.

 

5. Under the Sea: A Descendants Short Story (2018)

Under The Sea revolves around Mal (Dove Cameron), who discovers a glowing orb in a forest. She then meets Dizzy (Anna Cathcart), who is wearing a necklace that is possessed by Uma (China Anne McClain).

 

6. Audrey’s Royal Return: A Descendants Short Story (2019)

Audrey’s Royal Return follows Audrey (Sarah Jeffery) as she visits her hair salon for a makeover before making her return to Auradon after being absent for the past year. The film serves as a recap of the events of the first two films from Audrey’s perspective and an explanation of her absence from the second film.

 

7. Descendants 3 (2019)

Mal (Dove Cameron), Evie (Sofia Carson), Carlos (Cameron Boyce) and Jay (BooBoo Stewart) return to the Isle of the Lost to recruit a new batch of villainous offspring to join them at Auradon Prep. When a barrier breach jeopardizes the safety of Auradon during their departure off the Isle, Mal resolves to permanently close the barrier, fearing that nemeses Uma (China Anne McClain) and Hades (Cheyenne Jackson) will wreak vengeance on the kingdom. Despite her decision, an unfathomable dark force threatens the people of Auradon, and it’s up to Mal and the VKs to save everyone in their most epic battle yet.

 

8. Wicked Woods: A Descendants Halloween Story (2019)

Wicked Woods revolves around Mal (Dove Cameron) who tells her friends on Halloween night, about the legend of the Headless Horseman, one of Auradon’s first villains, who is said to be lost in the woods of the city and has haunted them for hundreds of years.

 

9. The Planning of the Royal Wedding (2020) [TV series]

An animated short prequel of the Descendants: The Royal Wedding follows Mal and Evie as they prepare for the royal wedding with Dove Cameron and Sofia Carson reprising their roles.

 

10. Descendants: The Royal Wedding (2021)

The Royal Wedding is finally here! Join, Mal, Ben, Evie, Jay, Audrey, Uma and all of their Auradon friends in celebrating this big day!

Descendants: The Royal Wedding is the first Descendants project to be announced after Boyce’s death, and as such, it was reported that the absence of Carlos would be addressed. In the film, Mal actually says she misses Carlos.

Mal and Ben’s wedding is the biggest event Auradon’s ever seen, but Hades threatens to ruin it for Mal. Through drama, friendship, humor and love, Mal’s wedding day leads to a showdown on the Isle of the Lost that could change everything!

11. Descendants: The Pocketwatch (TBA)

Directed by Jennifer Phangan The Pocketwatch is an upcoming spin-off of the Descendants franchise. It will feature Red, daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, daughter of Cinderella and Prince Charming, team-up to travel in time with the White Rabbit’s pocketwatch and prevent a catastrophic coup on Auradon.

The Pocketwatch is set to be released on Disney+
